Water-Efficient Landscaping

Potable water used for irrigation is reduced by 50% through the use of smart weather-sensing controllers for the drought tolerant, California friendly landscaping throughout the community. Additionally, The Green (our south courtyard) consists of synthetic turf which requires no irrigation.

Water Use Reduction

The installation of water saving ENERGY STAR® qualified front load high-efficiency (HE) washers, low flow water fixtures and dual-flush toilets in the apartments result in up to 30% reduction of water use and translates to a lower water bill for residents.

Minimizing Energy Use

The Crossing was designed to exceed Title 24 (California’s Building Energy Efficiency Standards) by over 21%. The use of energy efficient products helps reduce energy bills for residents.

ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances in the apartments, including refrigerators, dishwashers and clothes washers, incorporate advanced technologies that use less energy than standard models.

Dimmable lights in the dining areas and motion sensor devices in the bathrooms enable better lighting control. Compact fluorescent light bulbs are installed in the apartments as well as throughout the community to reduce the amount of energy used for lighting.
